Our Members

SAM is a membership based organisation, led by a board of thirteen Imams, of which eleven represent the founding members plus two co-opted members, taken from the membership. Alongside the board is a working group of Alimas (female scholars), a secretariat and a Public Affairs & Communications team

Our Work

SAM’s constitutional aims and objectives are:

To facilitate and increase cooperation, coordination and harmony between Mosques in Scotland;

To advance the education of the people of Scotland about the religion of Islam and the Muslim community of Scotland;

To represent Mosques and the Muslim Community at local, national and such other platforms considered appropriate; and to foster positive relationships between the Muslim community and other faith communities across Scotland.
